Thank you for taking the time to find about me! This is me... in front of the camera for a change and believe me, I much prefer being behind the lens. I am mainly a self taught natural light and studio light photographer with a number of Sydney photographic workshop courses in tow, who fell in love with my very first camera, which was gifted to me when I was 9. (though I'm sure I was taking pictures long before anyone ever handed me a camera) I took photos of everything I saw, I took macro shots (close up) images of flowers on a camera that was entirely incapable of taking clear close up shots; only to discover this when my mum would develop them for me-endless rolls of films (which were very expensive for a single mum in the 1970s ) They would all be blurry until I realised that my equipment just couldn't do what I needed it to do! Eventually I saved enough pocket money to keep upgrading my cameras which finally, as an adult led me to buy my first DSLR. An entirely new level. I then became that annoying relative that everyone complained about until they eventually started to look back on the photos years later and were so grateful I had taken them! (insert happy dance here) Doing events for family and friends and repeat referrals have brought me to this. Somehow since being given that first camera Linda G Photography took a while to manifest and many sad and happy life stories that would take forever to tell; high school, college, marriage, a job, life, children,a business; all the while thinking my photography was nothing but a hobby.
Life had other plans, it seems to have wanted me with a camera in my hand capturing peoples irreplaceable memories. So here I am. Living my own dream. I used to read about people finding their passion, using their talent and making it their career. Took me a while and lots of lifes ups and downs but I totally understand what that means now and I'm blessed and ever so grateful for the path that life has finally led me to.
As a mum of two incredible sons and wife to a man whose ambitions are sometimes larger than life; who all together teach me every day what those moments mean and how quickly time passes you by. Thank you for considering me to capture such personal moments. I could be professional and tell you that I'm honoured, but after we meet you will soon realise that I'm simply chuffed.
